Cognac vineyards

The cognac producing vineyards cover almost 80,000 hectares and are subdivided into six "crus" or areas.
Most of the vineyards grow white ugni blanc and colombard grapes.

Limestone, deposited during the course of geological ages, provides the cradle for the cognac vineyards. The slopes capture the sun’s heat.

The nature of the soil, the texture of the chalk, and the variations in climate all influence the aroma and the flavour of the final product which is more delicate near the centre of the region than at its periphery.
